OASIS FESTIVAL, MARRAKECH.
We were invited to cover the 2019 edition of Oasis Festival, Marrakech, through the medium of photography. This one of a kind cultural experience delivered another issue of forward thinking music, combined with food, fashion and arts.
Away from the dancefloor, Oasis showcases the contemporary art, fashion and culinary experiences that are redefining North Africa.
In 2019, the Museum of African Contemporary Art (MACAAL) teamed up with Paris-based designers Art Comes First to create The Mbari House, a pop-up gallery, boutique, and live performance space that featured performances by Yassin Bey (fka Mos Def), Sampha, Shingai, Walshy Fire, and more.
The three night sun-drenched event, nestled subtly within the sensual grounds of the Fellah Hotel featured DJ & Live sets from artists such as Four Tet, Ame b2b Dixon, Sampha, Seth Troxler, Amelie Lens, Mind Against, Recondite and Trikk.
From the Jemaa el-fnaa-inspired Moroccan Square to famed local spot Nomad, the food and drink options at Oasis give you a taste of how the rich culinary tradition of Marrakech is being pushed forward today. Daily yoga sessions, the Secret Garden and poolside activities are among other essentials at Oasis.
